Difficult life events and our own unique biology can combine and leave us with a negative perception of ourselves, the world, and the future. When this happens, feelings of anxiety, hopelessness, anger, shame may surface. Or maybe we feel completely numb and shutdown from others. At times, these symptoms become too uncomfortable and interfere with our relationships and work. We might start isolating, we cannot focus, we might even use substances in order to numb our pain.

Therapy can be a safe space to explore yourself and the places in which you are stuck, and to rediscover the strengths and resources that are within you. A place in which you can create a more compassionate relationship with yourself and the people around you and in so doing, moving toward a life of authentic connections, greater ease, and meaning.

MY APPROACH

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and direct. I strive to establish with you a relationship that is empathic, accepting, and honest. I aim to offer you a space where you feel safe and understood. I will listen to your private view of yourself and the world, and I will work on your goals, on what is most important to you. I will also ask for your feedback to align better with your unique needs.

My clinical approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) that is mostly used in the presence of trauma. I tend to integrate those approaches in various ways based on your specific needs.
