I haven’t failed. I’ ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work. - Thomas Edison

ADHD is recognized as a triad of symptoms in the domains of attention span, impulse control, and activity level due to lower activity in the frontal lobe. It is a developmental disorder with a high biological and genetic component. It is also one of the most controversial and misdiagnosed disorders. Stress, lack of sleep, other mental disorders, and the use of alcohol or drugs can all induce ADHD-like symptoms. This is why we will conduct a comprehensive assessment that includes a clinical interview, questionnaires, and interview with a caregiver, partner, or close friend.

We will work together to manage your ADHD symptoms and get you back on track. Current most effective treatments for ADHD include behavioral interventions to improve organizational and social skills and to reduce distractibility; cognitive interventions to increase awareness of interfering thoughts, and lessen secondary effects of ADHD such as shame, depression, and anxiety; and the inclusion of family members (for children and adolescents) or partner (for adults) to create a context for success.

In addition to therapy, medications can be very helpful in the treatment of ADHD symptoms although they don't work well for everybody. I cannot prescribe medications but I can refer you to a psychiatrist or pediatrician if this is something that is of interest to you.
